In April of 2012, my Mom was diagnosed with ALS and given one year to live.
As a final wish, she wanted to see the parts of 'Merica that she hasn't seen before and say a final goodbye to family and friends.
Shortly before she and my stepfather left for this journey, they asked me to come along.
